Advanced midi setup problems

So in the guide for advanced midi setup, the is instructions for having usb only control the plugins and midi template only control the physical midi ports.

The set up is in global choose only Usb and in the midi template choose midi.

I have these settings and the midi template works as it should only trigging physical midi ports. The global setting set to "usb only" are still triggering Usb and my physical midi ports. Is this a bug?

I have updated hardware revision to latest version. I have only had this for around less than a week, so everything should be updated to the current revisions.

This may not resolve but check that you have BOME Midi Installed as Windows 11 Pro has been updating SDK, etc. I have recently reinstalled BOME Midi SDK and the MIDI alignments all work correctly. You can check this in the MIDI settings app which should have been installed in the latest WIN update.

The BOME driver if you need to (re) install is available :

How do you witness that notesare still triggering Usb and my physical midi ports?

Installing BOME driver is neither necessary nor recommended. I've responded to your message in the other thread, but I don't think it has anything to do with this thread.

as far as i understand the manual, it states that it´s outputting midi through the midi port if the keyboard is in midi mode if set so of course in the midi preset, like you have selected a midi track in your daw. And it outputs midi only to your daw if you have a track selected with kontakt or kk loaded. So your problem is that in midi mode it outputs to the daw (midi track for example) + the physical output? I can try later to make a test with my mk3 keyboard and see what´s going on here. Meanwhile as already said a few more information's about your setup could help a lot to help you.

I tried and it works like described in the mentioned manual and like i said in the post before. If the settings are correct you send midi only to the instrument track if kontakt (7 or 8) or komplete kontrol is loaded, if in midi mode (maybe you have to press midi) it only sends out midi trough the midi din port at the back. Maybe it is a setup/routing problem in your daw but without further details ……………

I just want the USB to control everything daw and NI based.. I use the physical midi ports to control my outboard hardware synths.

I will upload a video. I am just using NI instrument's and no DAW presently. I'm I right in assuming that when in a midi template it ignores the global settings and when you switch to the browser it ignores the midi template as far as midi channels are concerned? I updated BOME driver no change in behavior. USB to computer and physical midi ports to and outboard sequencer hardware synths.

It works in the DAW somewhat. I was trying to use it stand alone with my external sequencer sequencing the plugin because it has options in the plugins to set it to different midi in/outs. When I try it standalone it has some kind of midi loop or something going on even though I left the midi output port unassigned in the plug in. I usually only use my DAW to record final projects.

Add that to the wish list I suppose.

My original problem still exists if you put the hardware in "usb only" and plug in a midi cable it will trigger both usb and midi.

This matters because if I am in my DAW doing a multi track recording using one Kontrol's plugins it is also sending those notes to my hardware sequencer track that I am also recording.

Sorry but I'm now a bit confused. Best would be if you say I have this and that running on my computer and I want this and that happen, I have set it up this way (pictures of the preferences) and so on. Inna DAW you have to be careful with the midi 3 port I guess, with a DAW you would have to use another setting in the keyboard and run midi through the DAW. So that's two different things - as far as I understand so far.

Then set the preset also to USB and router midi exclusively through the DAW, this way you can have a midi track for each external device with its own midi channel, and you can still play and record midi keys and knobs from the keyboard for your external devices. The midi ports 3 are then the two physical in and out ports on the back and route in your DAW settings and from the mentioned midi tracks.

I guess if you have set up the midi preset to output only through the din midi port (global to USB) the port 3, from your DAW, also outputs midi through the din midi port, so it merges the midi, based on what you have described this could be the case and where issues come from - but I will test this tomorrow and report back, as I said it's just a theory so far And it is not a bad behavior you just have to know and set up stuff accordingly.
