Kontakt 8: Empty white dialog box appears after adding instrument. Kontakt uncontrollable (KT-10584)

It appears to happen when adding instrument patches into Kontakt 8 on Logic Pro.

I have recently observed it happening with Spitfire Symphony Orchestra patches, however, I do recall this happening before with another developer also.

The DAW becomes unresponsive and I have Force Quit.

It is random and does not happen consistently.

Please advise

@christophertmusic So it's only happening with this instrument? Can you let us know which presets exactly? Does it happen with any other product? Like a NI one, just so we can try a faster repro. Can you describe step by step (even a video could be super helpful)?

And would it be possible for you to post a screenshot of that white box?

Because the issue is random, it can stop happening for a while (a matter of days) and then randomly show again!

It's quite frustrating.

As I am a hobbyist I am not regularly on my machine creating music, so I will give some more time to using Kontakt so I can track down the issue.

Have you done all the Mac users must do when using N.I. software ? :

ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon and DAW must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

What version of Kontakt 8 are you using? 8.11?

Do you have multiple monitors? Does it show on all displays? What kind/model of displays? What display settings?

Can you find some crashlogs for Logic and post them here?

For troubleshooting only, can you try in Kontakt in standalone? Do you get the same issue?

Have you tried a Batch Resave in Standalone Mode already?

Where is the library located?
Is this a big Logic Session? Could it be that the Memory is maxed out?

@christophertmusic FYI, this is actually a bug we are tracking but unfortunately the number of reports is very small and we were not able to reproduce the issue yet. It's filed under the reference KT-10584. If you can share crashlogs, we can add those to the bug report.

When I logged the issue I was on Kontakt 8.10.2 (the latest at the time). Now I am on 8.11.

I have a multi-monitor setup:

Dell U3425WE - Thunderbolt 4 connection to Mac Studio
Dell U2515H (secondary) - HDMI connection to Mac Studio

I will try to find some crash logs from that period.

I will try to reproduce the results in Kontakt Standalone also and get back to you!

For what it's worth I have exactly the same problem. Often when trying to load instruments in Kontakt 8 the white panel pops up. I can still drag Kontakt window around so everything isn't frozen, but if I try to close Kontakt window it makes the "system beep" sound as if it is waiting for me to confirm something (within the blank window perhaps..). Only wait out is to force quit Logic from activity monitor..
