How do I get the browser on the Kontrol S49 MK3 Working with Komplete Kontrol?

I recently purchased a S49 MK3 and when I load Komplete Kontrol the display on the S49 says "No results found" "Please try a different combination of filters". Oddly, the turn knob control moves the selection around in Komplete Kontrol but displays nothing on the S49 except the aforementioned message.

Also, the ability to control the browser with the turn knob only seems to work once per cycle of the keyboard. Once I close the instance and reopen it the controls won't work unless the keyboard is powered off and on. Any help is appreciated.

One other thing that is quite weird I just noticed is that the KONTROL S49 MK3 DFU Device is actually using the Device Driver for the Kontrol S49 MK1. Which is from 2015. Why is it not using a newer device driver, like the one for the S49 MK2 at least?

So I also noticed that the keyboard no longer has the check mark next to it in the "Controller" menu as well as the "49<keyboard icon>" on the right is greyed out and not working, when I close and reopen Komplete Kontrol:

I just figured out the problem, apparently it was the USB cable I was using to connect the keyboard to my PC? Once I changed that to a different cable everything seems to be working, in Komplete Kontrol anyway. When I try and adjust Knobs when Ableton is running Ableton locks up.

Have you updated keyboard firmware to latest ? : Latest Kontrol S-Series MK3 firmware update

and have you installed latest HCS (Hardware Connection Service) in Native Access ? : latest version of Native Access for your OS

Can you give more details on what's happening in Ableton? Is it when you load Komplete Kontrol in a track? Without any NI plug-in loaded?

Hi Jeremy,

I think the issue lies with my PC. I think it may have some hardware issues. I have a newer PC that seems to work perfectly fine with everything. So I think I'll chalk this up to that. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the update! Maybe there are some MIDI mappings in the Komplete Kontrol plug-in/app. You should try to open the Komplete Kontrol standalone application and clear out any MIDI assignment in there by clicking the little x:

You should also check if there are any similar assignments in Ableton.

Not sure if your issues are related to that but it's worth a shot.
