After saving my original preset using the Save function in the disk icon of Absynth 6 Stand Alone, launching Komplete Kontrol Software will display the following message: Is anyone else getting the same message?
Yes 99.9% of the time but there is definitely some bugginess there still - Mac
They have the same file format so it isn't even a question of needing to import anything, they should just work. But occasionally one doesn't - not sure why
Also annoying is I have imported almost all of my legacy Absynth banks fine but there are 3-4 that just won't load even though they work fine in Absynth 5 so the files are not corrupted or something. eg I have a bank by Tim Conrardy that I love that will not load
I've identified the reason why Komplete Kontrol Software can't read files saved with Absynth 6 Stand Alone! This was because when saving Absynth 6, nothing was listed under "COMPANY" in the Properties. After filling in the "COMPANY" field in Properties, Komplete Kontrol Software recognized the file!
I have successfully saved patches in Absynth 6 that open when it is hosted in Komplete Kontrol but I suggest sending in a bug report, there is clearly still some erratic behaviour around preset compatibility
Thank you for your reply, Kymeia.
Can you import your files saved in Absynth Stand Alone into Komplete Kontrol Software? Is this for Windows or Mac?
They have the same file format so it isn't even a question of needing to import thanything,
Yes, The first thing that confused me when I started using Absynth 6 was the lack of an import function. On Windows, files saved with Absynth 6 Stand Alone and files saved with K.K.Software have the same extension, ".nksf," but it's strange that the file size is smaller when saved with K.K.Software, even though it should include the Plug-in Panel (The eight knobs of the Kontrol Mk3) information.
It seems there are a few bugs, so I'll contact NI support in Japan.
Thanks a lot Kymeia.
I wonder if the file size difference is because in Absynth the oscil wave seems to be saved with the preset, perhaps that is not the case when saved in KK?
I don't think so. The file I saved with Absynth 6 Stand Alone did not contain the original oscil wave.
I created an initialized file using the "New Preset" function in Absynth 6 Stand Alone, saved it using K.K.Software, confirmed that K.K.Software could load it, and then saved it in Absynth 6 Stand Alone.
OK that's interesting, I have the company field in my main template so that's why most of mine have worked
