Electric Mint

Question

I recently bought Electric Mint. This is what I want to do with it: type in chords to create a song, for example D, Am, C, Em x 8, then use those chords to play an instrument within Mint. I then want to export the midi information of the song I've created into my DAW. I've read the manual and watched several videos but cannot find a way to do this. I don't want to play the keyboard, just type in chords. Is there a way to do this or am I wasting my time?

This instrument is designed to used with an NKS compliant keyboard.

I am not sure if I understand you correctly.    How is this 'type in chords' to be done ?  Are you looking for some text file to Midi function ?  , or how else do you imagine it to be done ?
