Firmware Problem KK S88 MK III (Version 2.1.2.)

updated 2.1.2 firmware on komplete kontrol s88 mk iii and now keyboard does not communicate to komplete, kontak or cubase

My keyboard works with stand alone istruments like Scaler 3, CS-80 , Halion 7, etc. In others words, anything but Native Instruments Komplete and Kontak.

My Maschine still works fine.

Try unplugging the keyboard then removing it from the MIDI Studio page in the Audio MIDI Setup app. Plug it back in and see if the problem clears.

Did you update the HCS (Hardware Connection Service) also in Native Access ? HCS and firmware more or less goes hand in hand.

I did update both. Shut down computer, and keyboard . Brought everything back up. Same results.

I turned off audio interface and therefore the Helix entry above "went away" without any other steps

Edit a MIDI configuration

on your Mac, choose Window > Show MIDI Studio.
In the MIDI Studio window, click the Choose MIDI Configuration pop-up menu (it may show Default), then choose Edit Configurations.
Select a configuration, then click Duplicate, Rename, or Delete.
When you’re finished making changes, click Done.

Unfortunately you need to do this every time you change between midi 1 and midi 2 mode. It's a long running Apple issue where they're overly aggressively caching the device configuration.

Turn your keyboard back on.

Nice to see a fellow Helix user I've had mine pretty much since it was released and it's still going strong. Built like a tank!!! I use it for bass too - not so much for effects but it stops the guitarist walking in front of me 😁
