I have several 3rd party libraries which do not have a library view. In v7 you have to find them via the Files section and that works perfectly. As far as I can see that is completely gone in v8, you cannot even find such libraries anymore! You actually have to go to Load and then browse in the folders of the computer.
@songman We've split this into a new post as it's quite specific. Please create a new post next time.
The feature to add non player third party libraries is shared by Kontakt 7 and Kontakt 8, as you can see in this article: How to Add Non-Player Libraries to Kontakt 7 / 8's Browser
It would seem it's then an issue on your specific system.Have you contracted our support about it? Maybe you can give us more details so we can help. What libraries specificallly and what process you had working in 7 that you don't find in 8?
Thanks Jeremy, I forgot to mention that I only have Kontakt 8 Player, not full Kontakt 8. I have the full Kontakt 7. But surely finding libraries should not be different from player to full as it is a basic action.
Loading via the Files menu is identical in v8 as it was in v7:
You do not need to use "library view" if you do not want to…

Oh I see, then it's not about Kontakt 7 or 8 but a Full vs Player issue. As mentioned in the article posted: Kontakt 7 / 8 allows you to add Non-Player Libraries to Kontakt's Library Browser. These unlicensed Libraries require the full version of Kontakt and do not need to be activated via Native Access.
Hi Vocalpoint, I do not have a files menu. Is that different from full to player?
Thanks again Jeremy, and sorry for the confusion. I understand the situation now. Apparently you can play 3rd party libraries in player but only in DEMO mode.
Your screencap appears to be inside a DAW. My screencap was the standalone version of K8.
If you open standalone - you should be able to switch between the "library" icon (looks like a stack of books) and the Play icon (looks like a "play" arrow) and Kontakt will switch between Library View and Classic view.
But as noted - you cannot really do anything with third party libraries with Player. However - Classic view will give you access to the Files menu as shown in my screencap.
Thanks Vocalpoint. All is clear now!
Cheers, Bob.

Yes! The ability to load non Player libraries is a feature of the full version. Sorry if that wasn't clearer earlier!
Thanks Jeremy, Vocalpoint and PoorFellow for all the useful info!
