Incompatible Files issue???

I’ve been having this annoying “Incompatible Files” popup every time I open Komplete Kontrol for quite a while now.

The problem is that I have to manually close that popup first, then another window appears, and in most cases the popup shows up again afterwards.

I’ve already deleted and rebuilt the database several times. I also removed the files mentioned in the popup, hoping it might just be a small number of problematic files. But no — once those files are gone, Komplete Kontrol simply shows three different files instead. So it basically turns into an endless process.

I haven’t changed anything on the system for months, apart from the occasional Windows updates.

Has anyone else run into the same issue and found a solution?

Well - the solution is right in the screencap - what exactly is going on in those odd directories you have linked via the third part import area?

A second question - why do you have libraries linked that are sitting in "ProgramData"?

That is a restricted (and hidden) area for OS use only.

Third party libraries should be place on a separate drive (ideally) and linked from there.

If you could elaborate on this - pretty sure we can fix it.

I agree with VP. The other thing is, those files shown at the bottom are nksf files (compatible according to the list in the popup), and part of the Sugar Bytes library so shouldn't be deleted.

Those folders would have been added by the plugins that offer NKS files, not by the user. SugarBytes has official NKS so those paths are where they store their NKS files, not a fault of the user.

Since you have already tried deleting those files this is a bit of a strange one. What version of KK are you running specifically? Have you checked if there is an update? Also, have you manually added any User Library folder paths to KK at all? It could either be a bug in KK or if it is scanning a folder with unsupported file types it may not be displaying the actual files causing the issue correctly (still a bug).

If you have added any custom NKS folders to the user library, remove all but the user folder at your Documents location. COuld also try uninstall/reinstall KK.
