Performance Wheel Sticky Mode

For the Komplete Kontrol app and Kontakt, the S61 Mk3 performance wheel (the one beside the pitch bend) doesn't carry its value across to the next preset. If I have the wheel all the way up, when I go to the next preset it doesn't respect where the wheel is, until I tweak it again.

Can you add a sticky mode that we can toggle, that when going to a new preset, it will tell the plugin where the current value of the performance wheel is (and the strip), and move the plugin value to snap there, when it loads the preset.

That is how it works for all plugins. Basically you almost never want the positi0on of the physical controls to reference to the screen, rather the screen to reference to the controls which for a physical mod wheel you cant adjust it from software so it is ignored until moved.

Often that mod wheel will map to volume in many instruments and if it is all the way down, loading a preset will just be silent and cause issues. Could also cause issues when reloading a saved project.

You never want the preset to be set to your mod wheel… until you do.
I'm asking for a toggle button, not an outright change.

When the person has experience with a plugin, knowing what the mod wheel consistently does with that sound, they no longer need the beginner's helper. If they want it to snap on load, that's an added feature, not taking away from them.

You want each preset to sound how it was made on the first key press, yea. Unless you don't, for that particular session. When I'm browsing around a plugin like Ashlight and I have my speakers up loud, I'm testing out the sounds and as soon as I touch my modwheel it jumps the drive back up and RAPES MY EARS because I can't lower the mod wheel first, that's no good.

It’s not something that will happen and it’s more a specific problem in how you are working than a feature that would be useful to many. Just need to remember to maybe move the wheel down when you switch presets and back up again after switching each time, that’s a simple fix, just a slight change in how you do things. I mean suggest away but I highly doubt they will implement a function to send commands back to the plugin on preset change.

Yup just remember to do more work than you need to, cause reasons. Cause more work is better than less work cause I said so. Cause MIDI pickup mode wasn't invented like twenty years ago or anything, nope. This company isn't interested in making their products better, cause not many people have complained about this obvious flaw, which makes sense cause I said so. I'm going to spend my free time telling people who make suggestions that not many people make their particular suggestion, cause reasons.

Commands don't need to go anywhere. The plugin works in the Kontakt/Komplete Kontrol wrapper. Which has its built-in controls, that work with or without a MIDI controller. The software (not the hardware) tells the plugin "this is where the controls are" on preset change, seeing as the software handles those controls anyway. The mod wheel is on the gui, independent of the plugin gui.

Maybe, some people need to simply adjust how they work instead of expecting tools to change how they work.

You may see a flaw, others see how it actually functions.

No need to get all snarky and childish about it, make the suggestion, but having been here for a long time since KK v1.0 I can say no user suggested features so far in all that time, even very popular ones, have been implemented so the chances your very specific feature that no one else is asking for isn't likely to be considered either so you would still need to adjust your workflow while you wait indefinitely.

Yup no need to get childish about it. Cause grown men spend their free time creeping around on forums telling strangers their suggestions are bad. That's exactly how champions lead their lives.

It's not like suggestions aren't popular cause no one wants to waste their time counselling software companies about their dumbass design decisions. Just look at how far that gets us. As if we should have to remind them of these basic things in the first place.

Please continue wasting my time having to reply to a nothing conversation, like NI wastes my time with their retarded mod wheel that forgets where it is as soon as I change the preset. High technology in 2026! 😀

If mods would protect me then I wouldn't have to do it myself now would I. Big tech loves censoring because of politics, but nope the people can't just give simple product suggestions without the predators lipping them off for a dopamine spike.
