cinematic studio strings Kontakt 8 problem

Cinematic studio strings, and Cinematic studio solo strings are not working properly in Kontakt 8 ( Cubase 14 pro)
When I create a new track with any of them, There is no sound, only a short sound when releasing the keybord-keys , another issue with the attack, they all start at zero. This problem doesn't appear when opening in Kontakt 7, only in kontakt 8
How can I solve this please?

Same problems here with Cinematic Studio Series instruments. Also having mod wheel issues with Fracture sounds string and brass libraries: It seems to ignore my last mod wheel (cc1) position when playing non-legato causing weird jumps in CC1 data. I was not having this issue with earlier versions of Kontakt 8.x or Kontakt 7. Definitely a bug in 8.9. Using Logic Pro 11.2.2 on MacOS 14.8.2.

Well, I reverted to Kontakt 8.7.1 from a backup and Kontakt 8 is back to working normally again. So definitely an issue with the 8.9 update. NI, please fix! Thx.

@Bubowski Thanks for the report. I am trying to reproduce the issue you are seeing with Fracture Sounds Brass Band Soloists. Could you please walk me through the differences you see between Kontakt 8.7 and 8.9? Which articulation did you choose? Do you update the mod wheel position before triggering the note?

Hi Alexandra,

On 8.7 the mod wheel graphic clearly updates to represent the present position of the physical mod wheel. This also shows in conjunction with the position of the Dynamics control which is also linked to the MW (cc1). When I play detached notes it always comes in at the right dynamic level based on MW position. In 8.9 the MW graphic in the UI does not change to reflect the position of the physical MW. When playing detached notes after a MW move results in the subsequent notes reverting back to the base value of the MW not the present value.

Here is the display in 8.7.1. Note that the graphic of the MW in the Keyboard area reflects the proper MW position and is also reflected in the "Dynamics" indicator in the instrument UI. This is NOT the case with 8.9 where the MW position indicator in the keyboard area remains at the 0 position regardless of the movement of the physical MW on the controller keyboard.

@Bubowski Thanks for all the details! I unfortunately cannot see the same issue here in 8.9. I wonder if it could be controller-related. I am using a Komplete Kontrol keyboard. What controller are you seeing this issue with?

Arturia Keylab 61 MkII. Note that the problem doesn’t occur in versions earlier than 8.9 using the same keyboard.
