Can you help me With Komplete Kontrol Daw

Hi,

I experience an issue with mys transport button with the play and stop not working properly. Looking at it closely I have now the Komplete Kontrol Daw appearing twice now in midi settings which never happened before. Can anyone help me to uncover what might be going on and the best way to come back to a single Komplete Kontrol Daw entry ?

What version of Komplete Kontrol? What S-series keyboard are you using? What DAW?

As you can see below, no matter what DAW I use I have 2 entries in midi Settings for Komplete Kontrol Daw. I never had that before - it seem to mess up with transport control

Close any DAWs you might have open. Unplug the keyboard. Open the Audio MIDI setup app. Show the MIDI Studio page (from the Window menu) and delete the Komplete Kontrol keyboard devices. Plug in the keyboard and that should get you back to a single device.

I never had to do that before . I am looking for answers and understand the probem. Not blindly listen to you . No offense but if you can explain yourself more I'd be curious to understand how having the Keyboard in Midi Studio causes an issue here .

Also it is impossible to untick the the 2 box in midi settings and it reactivate itself and forces to tick the second box that has not to be listed here so i am at a loss here

If you can not delete then try dis-connecting keyboard and reboot and try again with keyboard disconnected.

No offence taken :) Sometimes the Mac gets confused with MIDI devices. There are known issues if you switch the keyboard from MIDI 1 to MIDI 2 mode, so it may be something similar has happened. All access to MIDI devices goes through the MIDI subsystem which is why I suggested removing and re-adding the device, especially if there are two copies showing in the Audio MIDI setup app.

@Kaldosh You still didn't mention which DAWs and what versions of the said DAWs. That would probably ne helpful here. Do these DAWs, as well as the Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt applications all have full disk access? How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

You also didn't mention what version of the keyboard, is it a mk1, mk2, mk3?

I am on Mac OS 13.7.8 , Maschine 2 Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6 , FL Studio 25, KKS49 MK1, M Studio , M Jam . I recently ended up with a second entry for Komplete kontrol Daw in midi settings and it reactivates itself in the settings . Also Vital.clap doesn’t work in FL Studio 25 properly . The KK keyboard because of those 2 entries is not performing play stop countdown record properly in Maschine . I tried to remove the keyboard in midi studio and reboot as advised above to no avail . I downloaded the firmware, last available version on website is showing firmware version 69 saying that I have 73 installed so cannot update . I have a Sequoia partition in a separate drive testing transition at the minute but I don’t like how it turns out with all my setup . Except that hick up it’s all working fine but would be nice to solve this . Thanks for your help

Big issues here are that the KK S49MK1 and KK v2.9.6 - are both now retired and no longer supported.

And your OS is also end of life.

Not a good place to be for support.

You could try a ticket to NI and see what can be done but keep those expectations low if possible.

i am not looking for support but for knowledge . Did you turn wrong somehow ? If anyone kind enough to give the care for few minutes just for the sake of handing a hand to someone I am all ears . If you keep this way that is your call I saw the results .

Thanks for finally giving this info. What version of Controller Editor is installed on your system? Is the keyboard recognised when you open Controller Editor?

Can you check and share the MIDI input prefs in both Komplete Kontrol and Maschine, in standalone for both?

Disconnect the keyboard, go to Applications > Utilities Audio & MIDI setup, choose Show MIDI Studio. Are there several instances here? Delete all of them. Then reconnect the keyboard. Does that fix the issue?
