S61 keys do not play any sounds Komplete Control Standalone

I am a total neewb with Midi controllers and DAWS Etc, and have been eager to start playing with my S61 MK3 i got at christmas but have yet to get it to work properly. It appears the keyboard is properly connected through my interface and to my computer - i can preview sounds through the browser on the keyboard or by clicking through komplete control on the computer screen, when i load an instrument the pot controls on the hardware activate the controls on the computer screen, but i have not been able to get the keyboard keys to produce any of the sounds - i have done endless re-installs of SW, FW updates, tutorials, troubleshooting guides and am now at wits end - is they keyboard faulty? am i missing something here?

Thanks so much - I had been trying to select that previously but I was unable to - only my audio interface could be selected - I re-installed Komplete Kontrol and I can now select the keyboard - thanks for the help - figured it had to be something simple :)

Check the MIDI section of the preferences in Komplete Kontrol. Make sure that the S61 is enabled for input as by default it's disabled. It works for browsing and other controls when the MIDI input is disabled, you just don't get any sounds when hitting the keys.

Hi Jeremy, this issue has come up again. I had everything working after re-installing Komplete Kontrol, shut everything down and come back a couple days later and the keybed once again does not work - when i look at the midi tab in komplete, the keyboard is deselected but i cannot select it - thoughts?

i have done several re-installations of Komplete and am still unable to select ethe keyboard in the midi tab - running the latest FW with the keyboard as well…

@happygrant Do you have a lot of MIDI devices connected in your setup or had you in the past?

If you’ve plugged your MIDI device into different USB ports over time, Windows might have created multiple "phantom" versions of the driver that are clashing.

In Device Manager, go to View > Show hidden devices.
Look under Sound, video and game controllers.
If you see devices listed multiple times (some might be greyed out), right-click and Uninstall all of them.
Unplug your devices and plug them back in to let Windows "re-discover" them cleanly.

Do you use any kind of app cleaners, like CCleaner, sometimes they delete essential files, please read the following: Notes on Using Registry or Property List Cleaning Utilities
