Tahoe OS compatibility with S88 MK1 and KK 2.9.6.

Has anybody been brave enough to try out this combination yet?

My reason for asking is I DO NOT want to update IF I lose the LightGuide and NKS functionality of my S88 Mk1 keyboard with KK 2.9.6.

Anybody been there and done this or am I just hoping for too much?

I can confirm that with MacOS Tahoe v 26.3 - an S88 MK1 and KK 2.9.6 work perfectly smoothly as with previous MacOSs.

KK v2.9.6 is the only version of KK you can use with a MK1.

Both are not "officially" supported under Sequoia for certain - but it can't hurt to try.

Thanks for replying, I'm already using my S88 MK1 with KK 2.9.6 on my MacStudio M2 Ultra with Sequoia so my question was really about - is anybody actually able to confirm whether KK 2.9.6 works without a problem on Tahoe OS. I know my S88 MK1 and KK 2.9.6 is EoL so not supported whatever the Mac OS is.

Pretty sure I have seen a MK1 user or two make the move to Tahoe here in the forums in the last while.

But again - no guarantees. You would need to confirm with someone who has actually done it.

Both work fine on Windows, no one will know on mac like most things unless you try. Issue is mac imposes compatibility rules with an OS release and KK v2 and the KK MK1 drivers are no longer updated to add that new OS support so unlikely if it will evn install or function.

A sad thing one has to accept if you wish to use a modern mac, you must be prepared to update everything that attaches to it if you want to keep pace, you can never "not want" to upgrade something, that is not how Apple operate.

Thanks folks… I may just bite the bullet at some point soon and update my OS. If I do and it still works as it has been doing on Sequoia, I'll report back…

Class compliant everything on a modern Mac, unless one wants to have their temple vein burst out of frustration. Goes for MIDI controllers and audio interfaces alike.

Unless it’s MOTU or RME, they are always up to date with drivers.
