[BUG] Massive 1.7 VST3 does not react to CC anymore!

Hey,

just realized that the Massive 1.7 VST3 version does not react to MIDI CC messages, which is a huge error!

I always used the "Machine Controller" pre-made assignment, but it is not working anymore.

Sending in a MIDI sequence with valid CCs I previously sent and reacted, now does nothing.

Please fix it, this is a huge regression!

And for my purpose… NO, VST parameters are not a solution, I need MIDI here.

We'd like to try and reproduce the issue you are mentioning but we would need a few more infos. You mention the VST3 plug-in, in which DAW is this happening? Is it the same with Massive in standalone?

You mention using the Maschine controller assignment, does it mean you use a Maschine controller, and if it is the case, what version, mk2, mk3? Is there any specific template loaded in Controoler Editor? What MIDI CCs did you use? Any chance to make a little video so we can try this repro?

Looks to me like it's broken in the AU too on Mac obviously - it doesn't seem to matter which host, both plugin versions on Mac do not accept cc using MIDI learn anymore. The standalone appears to work though.

In which DAW did you check that? In Logic 11.2.2 I'm still able to MIDI learn any parameter.

Mine is on Bitwig 5.3.13 and Cubase Pro 15 using VST3 Massive 1.7 on latest Windows 11 Pro 25H2.

No physical Machine involved at all, just using the Machine CC mapping for automating parameters via MIDI in the DAW and now Massive simply does not respond.

Just try e.g. CC33 - F1 Cutoff - no reaction!

@Blaise I can reproduce in Cubase, reaching out to the Synths team to see if this is on the radar already.

Thank you! Also, I just noticed that the Machine Controller setup is active after loading.
E.g. Filter 1 Cutoff is assigned to ID 33.. yet no reaction while playing the MIDI automation.

Waiting for a hotfix hopefully!

@Blaise Sorry for not getting back earlier, we got in touch with the synths team.

First thing: for the assignments to work you need to click on the setup you want to load and then click on Load, then the assignments should work.

It would seem that you need to do this with every new instance of Massive. We tried to roll back to previous versions but behaviour is the same.

FYI: of course I did know how to load a MIDI mapping file.

In the meantime it turned out, Bitwig 6 with Massive VST3 version fails to move the modwheel, works well with VST2 version. I reported it to Bitwig, hopefully they will fix the bug on their side.
