Absynth 6 Doesn't Boot in Standalone and crashes DAW

I've reinstalled the synth, reinstalled Ableton 12, updated C++, made sure all drivers OS and devices were up to date and it does absolutely nothing when I try booting it up.

I've got a support ticket open but thought I might post here since they said it may be a while before they get back to me

can you maybe post some specs of your PC, like graphics card, cpu and so on. You could also try this:

There would have to be some information about all of this in the Windows Event Viewer and there ought to be a log for the Absynth 6 app crash , see here for how to use Event Viewer. To access Event Viewer select the keyboard shortcut Win+R, type eventvwr.msc and press the ENTER key.

The MS Direct X info and system specs suggests that the computer is OK for the task .

The crash info says Exception code 0xc0000409 and a Google on that tells what is generally summed up by the Google AI :

Exception code 0xc0000409 signifies a STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN, meaning a program tried to write past its allocated stack memory, often due to a software bug, corrupted files, malware, or improper shutdown, and can often be fixed by running System File Checker (SFC), DISM, updating software, reinstalling apps, or performing a System Restore.

So based on that then personally I would suggest that you first try these two :

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

How To Use DISM To Repair Windows Image (Please backup personal files before proceeding)

And that your Windows are fully updated…

Else also try to fully uninstall Absynth 6 , then reboot computer, then reinstall Absynth 6.

Could also be an issue with defect or corrupt MS VS C++ dependencies..

However , if the above does not help then perhaps you should try to look a little deeper into the Event Viewer since it appear as you have more 'events' to examine the reason why it all happens…

Thanks for the info, I'll try a clean install and see if that helps. Those other events were different instances of me trying to boot absynth from different locations. I had also done the other things you had mentioned and windows said everything was in the clear. I'll try reinstall and wait for CS to get back to me. Thanks again.
