Keyswitches and blue keyboard range randomly disappear from Kontakt

I'm puzzled as to why the blue keyboard range along with the keyswitches randomly disappear and I am left with a blank (black and white) keyboard. I know I can fix it by reloading the instrument in Kontakt, but it keeps on going to the empty keyboard and I can't figure out what I did that does that. I'm on FL Studio. The thing is, once you tweak your kontakt instrument it makes no sense to reload it to get the blue keyboard with keyswitches, because you're going to lose all your custom settings. How to fix this?

Hello,

I also noticed that with kontakt 8 too, and there I somehow can fix it by clicking around, without the need to reload the instrument. Unfortunately I didn't find a consistent way so far I know not very helpful but that's all I know so far, will maybe test it later again and hopefully find something. I also own kontakt 7 so I could test this too if I may find something - but if course I can't promise anything.

It happens in Kontakt 7 as well. Maybe this is a bug we should report to @Jeremy_NI

Is it with a specific library that it happens? I can't say I've ever seen this, but I'm not always using the on screen keyboard, but it never happens to me on my S88MK3.

I played around with my copy of Electric Mint for about 30 minutes using Kontakt 8 in Ableton 12 and never lost the keyboard (unless I hit the keyboard icon at the bottom, but it came right back when hitting it again. Switching to other tracks with other instruments didn't have any effect at all. Even used it with my S88MK3 and screen keyboard and all worked. I wonder what's happening? Think it might be a Windows 11 problem because I'm on Windows 10?

i also tried again with cubase and maybe i was somehow selecting empty space below the loaded instrument by accident, if i select the the instrument again the keys of course appear again. You see then a orange stripe next to the instrument header.

So after loading two libraries in one Kontakt 8, a session bassist library and electric keys library, I clicked on an empty black space (because the bassist library UI is much smaller than the electric keys, so there's black space in Kontakt) and that's when the keyswitches along with the blue keyboard disappeared from all loaded libraries. That's not what I want. I clicked around but I can't bring back the keyboard colors. So now I have to reload all libraries. Kontakt shouldn't do that.

I've observed the same, albeit in Kontakt standalone. I think what happens is what Uwe303 said: the instrument simply loses focus once you click in the empty space on the bottom of it, thus the keyboard colors vanish.

Clicking e.g. on the header of the instrument will bring back the focus and the colors. (Or, when you click on the instrument in the Default View's INSTRUMENTS section or in the Classic View's Instrument Navigator).
