Guitar Rig 7 crackling after several minutes of use

After a few minutes of use on Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1 .30GHz (1.50 GHz), 16.0 GB RAM (15.6 GB usable) Guitar Rig 7 starts to crackle and pop when used. If I close Guitar Rig 7 and then reopen it works again for a while. I have tried to restart the computer, but it doesn't help.

Not exactly a powerful machine.

And without any idea of what audio interface you’re using - this is hard to troubleshoot.

I can tell you to prepare for hassle if you are trying to use GR7 with the built in audio chip.

GR7 works best with a pro-grade ASIO based interface.
