How to rename new waveforms

I couldn't figure out how to rename a new waveform. If I create a waveform by clicking "new" in a waveform selector, I get a copy of the selected waveform with its name in brackets. I thought I could change the name of the copy in the waveform view, but double-clicking or "right-clicking" the name in the list or the name above the waveform editor didn't help. Nor did I find a hint in the manual…
