knobs in Komplete Kontrol cannot be mapped

I tried to map the Komplete Kontrol quick access buttons so that I can change the parameters of Battery from my Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2, but unfortunately it doesn't work. The buttons always say N/A, which I think means not available.

I use the old Komplete Kontrol software because I find the browser much better there. However, I also tried it with the latest KK version and get the same error there.

What could be the reason for this?

It happens with Battery 4 and some other older Kontakt libraries.

n/a means it doesn't have automation assigned, yet. You need to right click on the param in Battery you want to assign first and 'Enable host automation' - then it can be learned in KK (the reason for this is Battery automation is user assignable per kit because potentially it could have hundreds of params, depending on how many cells are active in that particular kit)

Same for Kontakt - most Kontakt instruments will have some host automation setup but not always everything that is automatable (and older third party ones often don't have any) so you need to add those in the instrument automation panel (then save the instrument)
