Absynth 6 Preset Browser needs updating

In Komplete Kontrol, you can filter on Sound Type (Bass, Bowed Strings… ). It also haas a Character column where you can filter on attributes of the sound like Bright, Dirty, etc.

Absynth 6 has a Type column in the preset list, but it seems to include both Sound Types AND characters - it's a mess. Komplete Kontrol has it right and Absynth 6 needs to be fixed to be more like Komplete Kontrol (and Kontakt 8).

In Abssynth 6, I can select a Sound type from the left column. But there is no qay to select a character. You can't use the Search space to filter by character. I think Absynth should look more like Komplete Kontrol for browsing showing all of the Sound Types and Characters that have been tagged with each preset.

Komplete Kontrol 3 needs to evolved (quickly) as the universal NI preset manager it was intended to be.

KK3 needs to adapt the same Preset Explorer map as found in Absynth 6.

KK3 needs the most flexible filtering tools for finding subsets of presets.

KK3 needs a feature to analyze NKS audio previews and place them on the 2D map of Preset Explorer.

KK3 needs lots of immediate attention to exploit the uniqueness of NI controllers and create deep "user love" on par with the legacy of KORE.

I'm not into explorer maps, I guess. I usually know what kind of instrument and sound character I am looking for so KK works best for me. I don't need the 2D map to help me there. If they added it to KK, that would be OK, but not something I'd be asking for.

What bugs me is Absynth has 2800 presets and KK can only see half of them. AND absynth text preset browser cannot sort by Sound type and Character like you can in KK. So neither is making me happy right now.

Yeah, I've been playing around a bit and thought this too. It would benefit of having, say, a toggle that allowed to determine

'I'm searching for an instrument [of type] that has a characteristic [characteristic]' - a logical AND, also

'I'm searching for an instrument [of type] or that has a characteristic [characteristic]' - a logical OR

Does anyone know where Absynth 6 "Favorited" presets are maintained? I'm running on MacOS.

After looking at the browser more, the left hand column has the ability to filter on Banks, Types (of sound) and Subtype and Character. This works pretty well. So I retract my last comment about how these need to show up as column headers.

You can select one or all banks. One instrument Type and Subtype and multiple characters. I should read the manual!

Maybe this comment needs to be in the Komplete Kontrol section?

if you open the preset list via the arrow-down icon in the upper toolbar it shows the filetype like presetname.nabs , maybe this is not as supposed to be.
