When I open Absynth in Komplete Kontrol, it reports 1438 presets available. When I open Absynth6 directly in Ableton, I see many presets in Absynth that I do not see in Komlete Kontrol. These are the banks reported in KK.
It looks like most of the "Absynth Legacy" patches are missing in KK. KK shows one patch, Absynth shows a lot more, although as you've already mentioned you can't see the number of presets in the list.
I looked at the komplete database and it seems that there's a field in k_sound_info table called hidden_for. When this is 0, the Absynth 6 preset appears in Komplete Kontrol, and when it's 1, it is hidden in Komplete Kontrol. What's going on here?
Yeah I think this is mainly the Legacy patches - I am only seeing 1
Luckily I can still open them if I browse Absynth 5 in KK as it now opens Absynth 6 - maybe that is why?
How do you open the database?
I use a tool called DB Browser for SQLite to view the database. Be careful to not change any field or you can corrupt the database. I only read the content and don't mess with writing the content.
@Kymeia This is what I use for changing K_Bank Chain directly in the database. For example, the Blinksonic non-player libraries - these will show up under Native Instruments brand whatever you do to try to edit the presets when exposed for KK/Maschine. DB Browser allows you to edit, so they show up under Blinksonic if you edit the database directly, but only local:Link
ok got it but I can’t see how you can tell which presets are 0 and which are 1?
In the k_sound_info table, under the file_name column, I filter on this … Absynth 6/Sounds Then I sort on the name column alphabetically. When I look at the hidden_for column, that's where I see 1's (hidden) and 0's (not hidden from KK)
It seems that all of the hidden ones are from the Absynth Legacy collection as someone previously stated. How can I get these visible in KK?
Like I said in KK I have exactly the same bank under Absynth 5 - only now Abs5 patches open in Absynth 6 so I'm fine with that for now - KK is a better browser than Absynth 6 anyway.
So I have one preset called Horn Pad from the Legacy Collection. I can see that in the filder that that file is in, I have all of the other legacy presets available. I tried to write 0's in the hidden_from entries that were set to "1" and saved the database. That did NOT bring more Legacy presets into KK.
I uninstalled Absynth 5 a few weeks ago, so maybe it's because I uninstalled it that I can't see those in Absynth 6. The marketing for Absynth 6 says it has over 2000 presets. I see them all in Absynth6, but I only see 1438 presets for Absyynth6 in KK
No I have the exact same problem and I still have Absynth 5 installed - just that one patch - but I had a copy of the Absynth 5 legacy bank saved to the user sounds location and that shows. I can try resaving it under a different name to see if that circumvents the block
That didn't fix it - I thought maybe renaming the bank would circumvent any database block. Maybe it's not that? I guess NI need to fix this - for now I will load it via the Absynth 5 item in KK
Unfortunately this is one bug that the 6.02 Absynth update doesn't fix - I guess the problem lies with Komplete Kontrol (and also Maschine 3)
