Prior Absynth Library NKS Presets do not load correctly in Komplete Kontrol v2.9.6

I don’t know if (and I don’t think that) this will solve the issue, but a rescan functionality for browser must be present, since it gets nominated in Absynth 6 release notes (btw under “known issues”).

Have you tried searching for it in standalone mode?

You could also try to ask @Kymeia if he knows something about 2.9.6, since it seems he is already working on porting things

Hey LIF,

Standalone works fine. You need to roll over to "Banks" tab in the upper left - but all the prior libraries are there and can be loaded - they even all have previews as well.

No joy within KK v2.96.

This looks to be the start of an era where this older KK finally meets up with Father Time.

Curious if anyone using KK v3.5.x is seeing the same - do all these old timey libraries load normally or act up in there as well.

I was hoping that a rescan in standalone would have then “unlocked” them also in other situations (the usual “make it build its library in standalone first” of KK and Kontakt memories)

Saying that… another things that came to mind: have you also tried opening KK standalone first or tried directly with it as a plugin in Studio One?

Btw: as soon as I will have Absynth 6 (should be in the next few days) I will make some tests (since I’m also on KK 2.9.6). In case I discover something, I will report back

No they work perfectly fine in KK3.5 - I am using that as a way to organise all my Absynth 5 and 6 banks because I think the Absynth 6 browser needs work

Thanks for the confirmation. That also tells me that whatever is going on within KK v2.9.6 - appears to be an issue that was (rightly so) never tested for - and most likely - not solvable.

Until that day arrives that I start warming up to KK v3 - I will simply need to parse my work - Absynth 5 for the legacy libraries and Absynth 6 for the new stuff.

Both work fine when using their own specific libraries within KK v2.9.6 - so no biggie.

Can I take this as a confirmation that having A5 and A6 installed simultaneously doesn’t give any issue?

You can open legacy Absynth patches in KK 2.9.6 if they are resaved in Absynth 6 first - I have upgraded some e.g this is one of my favourite legacy patches by RealMarco

How do you do a quick resave? Does this turn the preset into a User preset (needing the User button on the MKII) or does to just appear in the main preset banks as a normal selection?
