Kontakt no sound on digital audio out

There no Sound out on the digital audio out. Here is my Kontakt 8 config :

Audio Options :

Driver : WASAPI (shared Mode)

device : Realtek USB audio,

device driver configuration : Nothing here

status : running

Sample rate : Nothing here

Latency : 480 samples

On mixer output :

Audio interface output : Not connected (I can select Digital output L or Digital output R but the mixer output turns back to no connected.

When I select as device : AMD High Definition Audio device I can hear sound on my monitor with a headset (but it is analog format) and the mixer output is always not connected.

In fact the mixer output is never connected.

If somebody as a solution to use the digital output….

All I can add is that Kontakt is not designed to be used with any super low quality Realtek chip built into a typical computer motherboard.

And I am assuming you are trying to use the SPDIF (digital out)? This is most likely restricted due to other technical limitations. SPDIF hasn't been a thing for many years now.

Best advice is to consider a dedicated ASIO based interface on Windows. There are many to choose from out there at all price levels.

If you want to maximize your Kontakt experience - you need to get away from any RealTek chip - fast.

If you cannot add a technical answer it is better NOT to answer to my question. I don't need a marketing feeling about who is good and who is bad. Every software that i'm using works perfectly with windows 11x64 and the interface with realtek is ok only Kontakt has problems connecting (Mixer out is always disconnected but the sound goes out to all analog outputs).

Well - this is not a hardware forum. Gentle suggestion to call Realtek and ask them how to get Kontakt working if you are bent on using it.

Pretty certain that NI is not testing Kontakt 8 internally - on a $2.13 consumer grade audio chip.

Just a few elementary facts, folks.

Kontakt doesn't give a tinker's cuss what sound card you are using. It does its calculations and spits out a sequence of numbers, which can then be stored as an audio (.wav) file, or passed to your DAW for further mathematical manipulation, and then fed into a digital-analogue converter so you can hear what it sounds like. Needless to say, the quality of this DAC will have zero effect on the original quality of the digital music Kontakt and your DAW have produced.

If your soundcard has a digital output, these numbers should be put out directly through it, bypassing the card's DAC, and fed through the optical cable to another device which will do the conversion to sound. So in this case, whether you paid £5 or £5000 for your card will have zero effect on the output.

If you're quite sure your soundcard has a digital output, and Kontakt refuses to connect to it, there's probably a technical reason in the NI software, and if our local experts can't help you could start a support ticket.
