Massive X vs. 3rd Wave

I have had the pricy 3rd Wave 8M for a couple weeks now, while I love the 3rd Wave, I am surprised how well Massive X stacks up to it. I would say Massive X is every bit as good as the 3rd Wave. Massive X can do allot more while the 3rd Wave has its own character and some tricks so they aren’t redundant. Where the 3rd Wave stands out: the PPG digital sound (different than aliasing), the Prophet filters with great gain structure, and import of wavetables and multi-samples. Massive has more wavetable engines, more filter options, really huge poly unison and effectively unlimited voices.

Anyhow, I just wanted to state, that in my opinion, Massive X sounds every bit as good as the 3rd Wave which goes for $2-5k! It is also really great at VA sounds, love Massive X.

The 3rd Waves is a good sounding synth for sure. It comes across as a if PPG made a new updated synth in the modern era that is also capable or reproducing the old school sound. I guess that's what Groove Synthesis' intention was. While Massive X could do with some improvements to its current architecture, it still does offer some very forward thinking features thats hard to find elsewhere.

The old thing I found is that when Kontakt was updated to its latest version, a while back now, they introduced Conflux. I believe they've also included original PPG waveforms with that. It's a bit bizarre that they'd create another wavetable synth when they could have just put those features in Massive X?!?
