Completely Broken Kontrol Integration with Logic Pro - no solution works

Well, great. I've posted already on how Komplete Kontrol loses integration in Logic Pro and has not been fixed. By the way- that ticket submitted weeks ago has not gotten a single response from NI yet. Not one.

Now, with updates to Kontakt 8.7.1 and Hardware Connection Service 2.0.7, the native integration with Kontakt is broken too. Now, my Kontrol MK3 S61 keyboard controller has NO native integration OR NKS compatibility whatsoever with Logic Pro.

Guys, come on! Please!!!! For the love of God, start testing these updates with Kontrol keyboards in Logic Pro before releasing! Just once!

I think you expect too much there. I have tickets about completely missing or broken features in KK from 2 years back to almost 10 years now that have never been addressed or commented.

Best advice I can give, tho so far it yields no better results, is to post about the issue every week and try gather others to do the same if it affects them. Problem is most people CBF to bother.

I agree the lack of contact is inexcusable. It is not broken on my system so may be something local to yours rather than a bug for everyone - if it was broken for everyone I would expect a lot more posts on this and it would be 100% reproducible - but keeping this thread open to see if anyone else is experiencing is a good idea because that might help identify commonalities between other systems that are experiencing this (and differences from those that are not) which will help fix whatever it is going on.

Works here (with Kontakt and DAW/Plugin control - I do not use KK). Did you do all the necessary Mac things (full disk access, etc)? Also, have you trashed Logic Control Surfaces preferences?

I did have a glitch after installing the latest HCS 2.0.7, where the controller was not visible in Logic Pro, but a restart of computer fixed it, that’s all.

I find I often have to do the rebuild controller defaults + trash the plist after an update but I assumed you did that already

Have you tried this? There are no known issues on the NI side, but Logic controller integration is quite flakey in general and sometimes you have to delete various plist files to get it working. You may also try uninstalling → reinstalling the Hardware Connection Service if the connection with Kontakt isn't working at all (even in standalone mode).

If you're still having issues you'll need to explain in more detail what's happening (e.g. with a video) and what you've tried to fix it.

Are you saying that you have a testing environment that involves a Mac computer with macOS 15.6, Logic Pro 11.2.2, KK 3.5.1, Kontakt 8.7.1, and HCS 2.0.7, and everything, including direct integration, KK NKS, and Kontrol DAW/Plug In/Browser controls are all working perfectly fine?

Assuming you went through all the steps in the link I previously provided, and have confirmed that KK / Kontakt are working fine in standalone mode, this is most likely a logic issue on your machine, and I'd recommend going through the official logic troubleshooting guide, which ends ultimately with uninstalling and reinstalling Logic Pro. It's rare that such an extreme step is necessary but I have seen it fix this kind of issue.

Please also triple check that midi 2 mode is off on the device.
