How to fix aftertouch on black keys?

I bought a used S88 and it turns out there is no aftertouch on the black keys. Searching on the forum this seems to be a recurring issue, but I haven't seen any solution to the problem. Does anyone know the cause, and is there a way to fix it? Is it hardware or firmware related?

There is aftertouch for the black keys on the other models so I would have thought there should be for the 88 too?

Yes, others have confirmed that there is aftertouch on all keys their S88 mk2. But it's completely dead on the black keys on mine. Mine says its the latest firmware which is 0.5.9. Apparently there is a 0.6.0 firmware but possibly for a different hardware revision. Maybe something related to the aftertouch issue I'm having. Anyway, I'm hoping there is something I can do to get the aftertouch working. Could the AT strip have become disconnected perhaps?

So I decided to open up the keyboard to have a look around since the warranty period is long gone anyway. I can confirm that both aftertouch strips are intact and provide similar resistance values, both disconnected and when connected to the board. This leads me believe that there is no apparent hardware issue, but without a service manual it's difficult to trace the AT input further than the connectors.

Interestingly, the pcb connector for the black keys AT strip is labeled KBD88 while the one for the white keys lists all other KBD versions. Apparently the s88 is the only one with two strips. Maybe NI forgot to activate the AT input for the second strip in the firmware? Can anyone confirm that they have AT on the black keys on an s88 mk2 with firmware 0.5.9?
