I cannot find how to determine the amount of pitch bend in any of the guitars in Kontakt, neither those from NI nor in Desolate Guitar. Surely I must be missing something, you have to be able to set if it +-2, or +- 4, or …? HELP!
Hello,
you can use melda productions MAnalyzer for example, just insert it after the instrument, set it to sonogram play a note with pb and you can see how much it bends. Electric mint for example bends 2 tones as far as i can tell.
Thanks Uwe! It seems to be +-2 for most of them.
i guess like on a real guitar?
Yes, but why in this age of the weirdest synth sounds and experimentation with sound we must not bend an emulation of a guitar more than 2 is beyond me. Fortunately MusicLab does allow for larger bends.
You can change this fairly easily in Kontakt -
1) click the "wrench" upper left to edit.
2) On Group editor tab, click "all groups" (or select those for which you want to edit pitchbend)
3) Go to "Source" part, click "mod"
4) Adjust the "pitch-bend" slider for the range you want, up to 12 semitones (if there is not pitch-bend mod sourrce here, you have to add modulator → external → pitchbend
[Note that some newer libraries seem to be locked for editing, at least in Kontakt player, so this will only work if you see the wrench thingy in upper left]
Thanks! That is the problem, none of the guitar instruments has a wrench 🙄
