Kontakt 8 is not listed in my AU's for garageband

I purchased a GGD drum plugin, downloaded that and kontakt 8 per the requirements. It will not show up in my audio units whenever I try to insert it as a plugin. Ive restarted my computer after the download which didn't change anything. I then checked my garageband plugin folder to see if the components were in there. They are along with my 2 neural dsp plugins which do work. I then went and deleted audio unit caches in my device library to force a rescan on my audio units. Surely there is something small I am missing

Kontakt 8.70 (most current version) requires Mac OS 13 and higher.

That is most likely the issue.

I posted this yesterday and someone let me know my mac needed to updated to MacOs 13 or newer to be compatible with the newest kontakt update. Still nothing after updating my mac and kontakt. I have two different Neural DSP amp sims that show up with no issues. Im not sure what else I can try to fix the issue.

Have you checked the "How to Insert Native Instruments Plug-ins in GarageBand" (which includes lowering security settings)

Else then also make sure that both ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon and DAW (Garageband) must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats

Else try resetting Garageband AU as suggested by Google AI list

Apologies, I will keep commenting on this thread from now on.

I was unable to recieve the prompt from garageband to lower my security settings. However I was able to grant full disk access to Garageband, Native Access, NTKDaemon, and Kontakt 8. Still no luck with that unfortunately. I appreciate the suggestions and help! If there's anything else that could be done Id gladly appreciate the help!

Another thing to try is to move the plugin that can not be found away from the plugin directory , then force a total rescan for plugins , then put the plugin back into the plugin directory and force a rescan again (for some reason then that has also been seen to be the solution in some situations) .

Is Kontakt 8 even supported in Garageband?

And the OP stated an OS update - what exact OS is now in play?

Ive tried to force a rescan on my plugins and that hasn't worked. Unless you are suggesting something other than deleting audio unit caches.

Ive watched multiple videos with people using kontakt 8 in garageband with no issues! I upgraded to MacOS Tahoe 26. Updated kontakt to 8.70 as well.

Unfortunately - Tahoe is not supported by NI at this time:

Even if MacOS Tahoe 26 is not supported then I am not sure f that is why Kontakt 8.7 AU does not show in Garageband.

Perhaps @Jeremy_NI has any information to share ?

@mishalover MacOS 26 isn't officially supported yet so we can't know for certain if the issue is related to the OS or not.

Can you try to uninstall Kontakt 8 completely using this method: How to Uninstall Native Instruments Software from a Mac Computer

Then open Garageband again, close it.

REinstall Kontakt 8 with Native Access. Does it fix the issue?
