Using Kontrol S49 MK3 without registration

I bought a used S49 MK3 at my local Guitar Center, and although it seems very nice, the person who sold it didn't deregister it. Furthermore, I did what I always do on new gear, which is do a factory reset. Now it won't do anything until it is registered, which I can't do until support gets around to answering my ticket.

I have Komplete and a bunch of other software, but without registering, I can't get the hardware control center so that I can initialize it. I was hoping to at least use it to control some hardware synths in the meantime, but no such luck. Is it just a fancy brick until support can help me out? I hear this takes several days, which isn't a tragedy, but I'm eager to play with it.

And otherwise then afterwards try log-out , reboot , log-in on Account downloads page and then search for hardware to see if the HCS appears then.

Else then as above please contact N.I. Support (all) , which you ought to do in any case in this situation

Registering the keyboard hardware serial itself to your account should give you a voucher code to get the Komplete 15 Select of your choice for free from the N.I. shop !

In the mean time then Komplete Start is free.

Thanks! That worked great. I still don't have the controller officially registered to me since that requires the original owner to do the transfer and I am not sure that they will do that, but I already owned all of the other software from previous purchases. I just needed the hardware connection service to get going.

N.I. Support (all) should be able to do the transfer for you provided that the previous owner does not object when/if Supports looks into the matter…
