Hello everyone,
I'd like to start by saying I had a similar problem with Windows 10.
For several months now, I've been using my HP 255 laptop (AMD Ryzen 5 @2300 MHz - 8 GB RAM; 512 GB SSD) almost exclusively as an audio processor for the standalone Guitar Rig 7 Pro. As a USB audio interface, I use a Swissonic Audio 1 (a brand managed by Thomann store).
The problem I keep encountering, perhaps even worse, is that more or less randomly, while I'm playing with Guitar Rig, the audio output suddenly becomes mute, and to return to normal, I have to close and relaunch Guitar Rig (this solves the problem in 99% of cases).
Even though it takes about ten seconds or less to get back to normal playing, it's a problem when I'm playing live with others and an audience (in our case, we are a choir). It still creates an annoying interruption in the accompaniment, and I absolutely must avoid this if I'm performing some kind of solo. I was advised to follow the Native Instruments guide/article with all the various tricks and steps to optimize Windows for music production, so to speak... and I think I've done everything, or almost everything. However, if I understand correctly, these steps are intended to resolve minor problems? as small interruptions, audio skips, and various noises , clicks and pops ... not to resolve a complete interruption of audio output until the software is restarted. Do you have any idea how to resolve this type of problem to have an efficient system for playing? Right now, the only thing I can think of is that, among other things, I might need to leave only the external audio interface enabled and disable the other sound cards built into the motherboard ( the typical realtek and perhaps also that related to webcam) ... if this were the only source of any conflict or interference, I have no problem to disable them.
Otherwise, what should we look at / optimize?
By the way, I'd need it on Friday evening because rehearsals start again after the summer holidays.
many thanks!
Dimitri
