Hello, everybody out there!
Well, it seems the question is asked from time to time, but I guess it is good to show that there are some interest for it. And since "system" closed the last thread, despite it being still active, I couldn´t add my voice so I try to do that here.
So, could Native Instrument please release some Linux versions of their software—I know, you still can make them run with Wine—and their drivers? It turns out they are using Qt (a pretty good choice IMHO) which is compatible with Linux (it somehow started on it) and their hardware is actually running Linux. There is probably not much to do to have some Linux versions.
By the way, with Flatpak (
https://flatpak.org/
) you can easily make packages that will run on any distribution. Native Instruments can even create its own server if they want to. In any case, it is possible to sell products for Linux without changing Native Instruments’ business model.
A lot of people will be switching to Linux (now Windows 10 is end of life, and slightly older computers will not work with win 11). Native Instruments is losing part of the market here, while there's no need for that.
(I didn’t know how to make the suggestion, I hope I have not been too much insistent.)
Best regards.
