Claire 1.1.0 update and Kontakt compatibility

Hi everyone, I'm excited to announce that an update to Claire is now available. This release includes several key improvements based on your feedback from the Q&A with the Galaxy Instruments team earlier this year!

Here’s what’s new:

IMPROVED Release samples behavior and half-pedaling
ADDED A new pop-up for customizing half-pedal sensitivity to suit different pedals.

Important: The minimum requirement for Claire has changed to Kontakt 8.6.0. This means if you update the library while using an older version of Kontakt, it will break compatibility. You can use this with either the full or free version of Kontakt 8.

If you’ve accidentally updated and can no longer load your old projects, please see the useful information below on how to restore your previous version.

Uninstall the updated library using Native Access uninstall feature
Navigate to your download manager: https://www.native-instruments.com/account/downloads
How to use the NI Download Manager
Once installed, open Native Access for activation and don't update the libraries.

Nice to see improvements to Claire for advance users.

Improvements

Improve MIDI CC assign on parameters (mic menus, certain on/off switches etc) which is not assignable at all. Only Learn button can be used atm on available parameters, no drag and drop MIDI CC assign is available. Hope this is addressed in the fall.

Add a non animation version toggle on/off with ultrasharp image of Claire in different locked mic positions instead of the soft animated version. This is also a needed solution not if but when you start to see graphical artifacting issues with Claire.

Consider if light guide switches color based on certain conditions.

Add velocity curves for Komplete Kontrol keyboards on all piano products (and why not more third party NKS keyboards too), not only Claire. Would love to see velocity curve presets on more third party store partner piano products too, like Heavyocity Ascend, Avant and Allure (which also need mid life cycle face lifts).

Budget for mid cycle updates

Would love to see Noire getting a GUI update to reach parity with Claire and Claire Avant
Release Alicia Keys Kontakt 8 sequel (preferably an updated sample library) version to reach parity with Alicia's Electric Keys
Release updated GUI for Una Corda (on current sample library) as a Kontakt 8 instrument to match the look of Claire
Release updated GUI for Maverick, Upright and Grandeur (current sample library) as Kontakt 8 instruments to feel modern.

Grandeur Sequel

Design a sequel to Grandeur, people still may want the classic Grandeur with an updated GUI but also release a new Grandeur with new samples and engine similar to Claire and Noire.

i vote for a sequel to grandeur, even imagining it is fantastic cause that pianos deserves way more attention, we want the same instrument, resampled with up to date features :)

25-30 velocity layers, mic mixing page, particle engine, full pedal control like the claire and more :) we're waiting

and of course an update for all the previews pianos is necessary imo :) bigger images and lots of new features :)

My top three piano’s that I own are Vi-Labs Modern-D, Pianoteq Pro and Noire. I’ve just been trying the 15min demo of this new update and think this is a notable improvement! I’m a big fan of Noire which has been one of my goto pianos for several years but wish it had multiple mic positions and Una Corda. When I tried the original v1.0 release of Claire there was a lot of great things going for it but the initial flaws made it unusable for any serious solo piano situations. The new v1.1.0 release has addressed many of these issues and Claire is now very promising for solo piano.

I do find the bottom couple of octaves sound as though they have a sub mic turned on but when I look at the settings for this, the sub mic is turned off? Also, the resonance sounds quite high by default which I normally turn down a reasonable amount. However, the Fazioli is one of the only brands I haven’t played for real so perhaps this is how the actual piano sounds in this room through the various mics/positions?
I need to spend more time with the demo version before I can fully form my opinion but I think I would lean towards Claire more than Noire for solo piano now.

I'm excited to see so many requests for a sequel to Grandeur, A truly versatile lib for almost every genre. The pianos from Galaxy Instruments generally have lovely tone like no than sampled products, the clarity, intimacy, dynamic range and consistent layers, resource-saving never fail me. Hope this request come true. More features are favored especially true pedal behaviors and extended sympathetic resonance and hopefully correctly implemented. I am looking forward to see the next product of five years like from Grandeur to Noire, and Noire to Claire. Cheers.
