Feature Request - Komplete Kontrol Keyboard

Feature request for the next Komplete Kontrol MK4 (or future models): it would be great to have the sliders positioned on the top section of the keyboard, like many other MIDI controllers.
This would not only improve ergonomics and workflow, especially during live performances or detailed editing, but also significantly reduce the space the keyboard takes up.
With 88 keys plus sliders on the side, the unit becomes too bulky for many setups. Placing the controls on top would make it much more compact and practical.

Also, it would be great if you could consider offering a 76-key version, still very playable, but more portable and space-friendly, as many stage pianos do.

Hope you consider these ideas to make the keyboard even more user-friendly!

Those would have to be motorised faders. I’m rather tired of faders not matching what’s on screen. Or touch strips with led bars. Then yes.

Been requested over the years, NI have stated several times unlikely (more never) will happen. Faders can be added via a different controller like a nanoFade and like mentioned, touch faders would really be needed but would add substantial additional cost.

Just to clarify: I’m talking about regular sliders/wheels (like pitch/mod wheels) on the top of the keyboard, not motorized faders. Simple physical controls to save space and improve ergonomics.

Yes we understand, the issue is usually tho even with "takeover" mode in some DAWS, switching between tracks or instruments leaves these controls completely at the wrong physical position relative to what is on screen. This is why KK uses endless encoders rather than physical sliders or wheels and being a keyboard controller that is integrated and shows feedback of what you are doing, having static faders would kind of cheapen the overall purpose. This is why touch faders that can have dynamic updated position LED feedback, encoders or motor faders would be great, but that wont happen.

Just to clarify again: I’m not referring to parameter faders for DAW/plugin control. I was talking about the pitch and mod wheels specifically. Having them on the top section instead of the side would reduce the overall width of the keyboard (especially the 88-key version) and save space in a setup. Nothing motorized or related to DAW takeover, just the two wheels moved on top.

Now that we know you’ve meant pitch and modulation wheels - yes, it would be space saving to have them above keyboard.

Yeah, you used the completely wrong terminology so we assumed it was the common request of adding sliders (as you stated) to the controller.

The "Pitch/Mod Wheels" are in the position I think most players expect them to be (myself included). I know there are some controllers that place them up top (usually to save on space) but they are far more intuitive to use in the position they are, which is why almost every keyboard has them there.

Not sure NI will change their entire design for this one tho, or that too many people want to see that. I for one certainly don't want them up top.
