Kontakt 8: Can't seem to get rid of duplicate snapshots

I tried to fix this on my own, I goofed (new to Mac, Windows/x86 motherboard designer for many years) during the installation and wound up with 2 libraries, then deleted the duplicate.

I have tried everything deleting Kontakt 8 in the library - the duplicates also show up in Komplete Kontrol and I don't see that in the library to delete.

When I delete Kontakt 8 folder and launch Kontakt 8 standalone, it recreates the Kontakt 8 folder but it doesn't seem like it is scanning anything, or if it is it's doing it very fast.

I have tried everything including reinstalling a couple of libraries (Cloud being one of them) too see if the duplicates went away, and reinstalling Kontakt 8 and Komplete Kontrol. Duplicates.Wont.Go.Away. I'd tear my hair out if I had any.

Can someone solve this?

OK deleting the app/plugin is not going to do anything to the snapshots as they are installed to the content folders, not application folders. Best way to track down the location of duplicates or any snapshot in Komplete Kontrol is to right click on it and 'Show in Finder/Explorer" - then delete what is in that location and rescan the database.

Kymeia 'rescan the database' I have done that many times (obviously incorrectly) there must be something I am missing - yes, I tried scanning both Komplete and Kontact 8 databases but I must no be doing it correctly, or maybe missing a step.

Did you delete the duplicates first like I suggested?

Oh yes, now for each duplicate entry now I get one that previews the sound and the other is silent. And there is nothing to point to when I assert 'show in finder' the duplicate directory is definitely gone.

That means the duplicate snapshot directory is gone (and with it the previews) so now when you rescan the database it should go too

If it doesn’t try deleting the Komplete.db and letting it rebuild (backup first)

Kymeia - thank you so much. So, as I am new to the Mac, the Komplete.db3 was hidden and using a Logitech keyboard it was a different key to reveal the hidden library in finder. Once I did that and deleted it like you said, it's perfect! Thank you so much!
