We Sound Human

I just bought two We Sound Human packs. Is anyone else using them?

First problem was they don't operate inside the free version of Kontakt.

So I upgraded to the Full version of Kontakt 8. That's a whole new learning curve!

After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing (NI had to guide me through Go>Library>Application Support>delete db3 file) I finally had a Kontakt 8 window where I could load the We Sound Human instruments.

And now - a whole new raft of problems! I've been using Kontakt for I don't know how long, 15 years? And We Sound Human doesn't operate like any other pack, and I've bought many, many instruments over the years.

Does anyone have a link to an easy to follow, step by step guide to using We Sound Human inside Logic? The videos I've watched are useless, because they assume you know what you're doing.

I need the Mickey Mouse explanation!

I have a number of these - they load via the Files menu in Kontakt - just like they always have.

If you are expecting them to appear like a fancy NKS library within K8 - you will be disappointed.

They are a bit esoteric in their operation as they hail from the Kontakt 5/6 era - but still totally usable.

I'm not familar with these libraries but if VP says is true, then there might be a way to make it easier using the new functions of Kontakt 7 and 8: How to Add Non-Player Libraries to Kontakt 7 / 8's Browser

While these are ancient in scope - one could certainly hack them into position in the K8 Library view like any other library - but they won't have a fancy graphic or previews.

Are they actually Kontakt libraries at all or just Wav sample packs? If they are older Kontakt instruments then the Quickload browser would be a good option for loading them

Cool - so you could probably add a thumbnail too (add to folder NI Resources/Image/Ambient guitars/MST_artwork.png (134x66 px)

It is actually also possible to create previews but probably only realistic if there are not hundreds of presets (unless you are able to script it)

Way too many keyboard combos to try and create previews. These are not libraries that I would use often - but now that they are easier to access - might have to start using them more.
