As a long-time user and professional relying on Massive X for its elegant, distraction-free design, I’m finding the recent UI changes (especially the persistent Play/Edit/Browse bar and Animator toggle) are disruptive to my workflow, adding superfluous visual noise and complication. Also worth mentioning is that the Animator icon uses a standard power on/off icon that typically indicates global on/off and is inconsistent with NI's past usage of the icon as such (e.g. Reaktor). The "Animator" label underneath crowds the AT Feedback text label (when present).
These additions may benefit newer users, but they shift the focus away from what made Massive X stand out: a clear, modular, carefully considered synth interface with deep sound design potential. Even when setting default to Edit view, unnecessary buttons remain and affect the UI flow. For me, the new preset browser behavior is a step backward in speed and elegance and breaks my flow to tab between Edit and Browse compared to simply clicking the preset area as I've been doing for years now.
Please consider implementing a Minimal/Classic/Play mode enabled UI toggle in menu that hides Play/Animator additions and restores original preset browsing behavior. This would preserve the tool’s professional value without hindering broader feature growth as a player. At the very least, please consider removing the Animator toggle button from the Edit view since it is already present and accessible on the Play view alongside the Animator controls. This would go a long way in restoring the visual balance and flow for my usage.
Thank you for your attention to detail and continued development. Massive X has long been a central tool in my workflow, and I want to keep trusting in it. Also, anyone else feel free to chime in!
