Cremona Solo Flex and True Vibrato 2.0 update - yet no GUI update?

Love seeing innovation/improvements in one instrument carry over to an older set in the same instrument family.

However with the 2.0 release the GUI was never updated.

The new Quartet Ensemble instrument look and feel fresh while the Solo series still look old in comparison. Why not fix the graphics in the same update? These are instruments with long life cycles and should have budgets to add features and improve overall UX to feel fresh.

All these products are produced by E-Instruments - only distributed via Native Instruments.

Only E-Instruments can decide what (or what not) to update - including the GUI.

That implies a one way and passive relationship but I am sure NI are able to say what they want updating by their partners - otherwise they are going to be perpetually surprised by what they are doing and have no control over product lines. This is their product, e-instruments is just doing the development work but surely NI can say 'we want you to update this product for version 2 to include true vibrato plus bring the GUI into line with the latest version of ensemble' - that's not so hard really. It's pretty ridiculous really that this new version still has the old squinty gui when ensemble has something much more shiny and clear - of course they want people to cross grade

Agree. I'm still amazed NI with partners don't seem to budget for mid life cycle facelifts on the products.

With respect - without full disclosure on how a partner agreement like this works - speculating on who says (or requests) what to whom - is pointless.

For all we know - eInstruments sent an email a month ago and said "hey - an update is coming".

One thing is certain - until eInstruments decides that redesigning ALL their GUIs for these products (along with the time, talent and resource that effort requires) is worthwhile - OR NI has the ability (within the agreement) to "request" that change (and foot the bill for it) - we get what we get.

Which is exactly what we got.
