Before posting this, I watched the official NI Walkthrough, RTFM, and searched through previous Community threads on Session Percussionist. When replacing an existing Instrument, it also replaces the established pattern. For example, in the snapshot Shuffle Bells, the Cajon Studio A has the following pattern that I quite like.
However, I would rather this pattern be played by a conga player. But, when I replace the cajon for a conga, it replaces the original pattern with what appears to be a default pattern (based on instrument variation):
This new conga pattern is all wrong for the groove of the original Shuffle Bells preset. How do I prevent this behavior and preserve the original pattern? I feel like I am missing something easy, and maybe I am just clueless. It's painstakingly tedious to recreate the original pattern from scratch, since there are 32 steps, 5 rows or articulations, multiple articulation subtypes per instrument variation, and 4 pages of settings per pattern.
@Jeremy_NI I am tagging you, since it looks like you were the primary one responding to Session Percussionist threads previously. I hope you don't mind.
