How to get Full Version Kontakt transferred to new computer?

Wonder if anyone could help me with an issue. I have the full version of Kontakt on my old macbook and needed to upgrade since it was slowing down massively. So I upgraded to a mac studio from my old macbook and when I installed Native Access on the new computer, I downloaded all my libraries again but noticed my Kontakt player is only showing up as the player and not the full version. Is this because the Kontakt on my macbook has the full version? How do I get the full version onto my new computer? I did read you can only have one active Kontakt at a time so do I just uninstall it from my old macbook? I'm not very tech-savvy so I appreciate any help on what to do.

@AndyH You are likely running into the following issue:

While there is a workaround provided, perhaps do consider updating to Komplete 15 Ultimate. Both Komplete 10 and Kontakt 5 are pretty old now. Not only do you miss out on support/compatibility for newer OSs and systems, you also miss out on lots of new, wonderful sounds.

No , it has absolutely nothing to do with that. Quote : END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT , section: 3.3

Licensee may install and personally use the licensed software on three devices (e.g. one computer, one laptop,one workstation), provided that the said software is used only on one device regularly. Simultaneous use on more than one hardware device is not permitted. The Products may not be used on a network by multiple users, unless each user possesses a license. In case Licensee changes the hardware,all software on the hardware used must be deleted.

How do I get the full version onto my new computer?

You install it.

Problem here is that we actually knows very little about your setup and are left to guess. The OS version tagged (macOS 14.6) is that the old computer , new computer ? or both ? What was your OS on the old computer ? What was your Kontakt version on the old computer was that also Kontakt 8 ? What is the OS version on the new computer ? and the Kontakt version on new computer is 8 ?

You do know that a license for e.g. Kontakt 6 does not give you a license for Kontakt 8 ? Also please notice that if you have made any projects on an Intel Mac then if your new computer is Apple Silicon then you may have to open projects from Intel Mac in Rosetta on new computer ?

Also Native Access probably will not show any apps that it thinks not compatible with your OS.

So we need a little more information with respect to at least your software versions. (Kontakt / Komplete bundle version) .

Also then be sure to use latest version of Native Access for your OS

Else then if you have a full version license for the Kontakt version reporting as Player only and you are logged into the correct account in Native Access (the same as MY PRODUCTS, SERIALS, AND DOWNLOADS page) then you can try the following Trouble shooter here : My Products Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access, especially '2. Your activation fails because of corrupted or missing activation tokens' and '3. You have corrupted XML files' (delete both NA XML and Kontakt product XML) then restart computer and log in again to see if that helps

Thanks for the reply and help. Sorry I must've been half asleep when I put Kontakt 8. I'm stupid.

Old computer is macOS 10.15.7. Komplete 10 ultimate. Kontakt 5.8.1

New computer is:

Mac Studio m2 Max. MacOS 14.6. Kontakt 5.8.1

I'm logged into my only account on NA (latest version)on new computer. I downloaded Kontakt 5 from NA and it says license type: demo when I open it. On old computer is says license type: full. Maybe its what you're suggesting with the missing activation tokens or corrupted XML?

I think that Monochrome is right with respect to the Kontakt 5 issue being that you are using Apple silicon on the new computer so check the help article that he suggested 🙂

I upgraded to Komplete 15 Ultimate and sure enough that fixed it. Thank you for the help!
