So I'm trying to update the keybaord using the updater tool, but I have been stuck on this screen for an hour now. But it also says to not disconnect it… So how long should this take?
Any experience with this?
Some people have had to leave the keyboard over night to get it to finish , though it ought not take that long time in general , it has happened that people have reported 8-10 hours of update time. So be sure to not turn off computer or keyboard or sleep mode computer before it is finished (or failed).
.
Wow… That's very odd. I might have to use the computer (and usb ports) for other things though… What happens if I disconnect it?

You probably risk to "brick" the keyboard.
I've also experienced the insanely long firmware update times.
Currently I wonder if that is maybe related to not getting enough power delivery into the second (power only) USB port?
Even if it is then I am not sure that one should fiddle even the slightest with the setup while a firmware update is happening.
I didn't mean to suggest that, and I don't think I did.
However, I do think it would be valuable to have a common understanding/knowledge how to shorten those crazy long times in the future. Many UPS systems wouldn't even last long enough to overcome a long enough residential or commercial power outage.
I'm writing this with the fresh memory of a 7+ hour power failure in my neighborhood. I shudder to think what that might have done to my MK3 if it had been in the middle of a firmware update.
Never said you did , why I didn't address you , I were merely pointing out that it might not be a good idea to fiddle with anything while updating if anyone should get that idea.

And right you are.. But as you point out yourself then how many have an UPS that will let your computer run 7+ hours with the grid down. And how many common user even have an UPS these days.. Should I have 'sufficing' UPS then I'd have to get a rather expensive one and to have power for 7+ hours I'd have to get my own emergency power system. But hey , maybe in a few decades most people got huge battery packs to store main power for hours even for general use and not just for a computer..
@Gitarmats Did it complete in the end? Do you need some help or everything is working now?
