No software app for programming Kontrol keyboards?

Suggestion: NI needs to develop an app for Windows and Mac for the S series keyboards. That would make all of the setup and configuration so much faster. Line 6 has this for the Helix and HX Stomp hardware and it’s 10 times faster than doing these tasks on the hardware. Programming the S61 (what I have) is like programming a Roku or TV with the remote. So slow . . . I notice that I’m not utilizing the full potential of this keyboard because the programming is so tedious and time consuming.

Am I wrong? Somebody please tell me how easy it is to. . . . .

Well NI use to have Control Center that was actually faster like you suggest at setting up the MK1 keyboards but they migrated the setup and configuration of the keyboard into the KK software so simplify the management of software so that is unlikely to ever go back to a separate tool. Then on the MK3 there is the issue where much of it has to be done directly on the keyboard itself.

I had a MK2 keyboard before trading it in for the MK3, and generally I prefer being able to edit the templates right on the keyboard. And if that's not enough, the MK3 templates can be exported and imported from the hardware to a Mac or PC as .kmt files.

Those .kmt template files are pretty much straightforward JSON files on the inside, so with a competent programming editor (like VS Code) one can make some edits that might be more cumbersome on the keyboard itself. I wrote a little blog post about that.
