I'm a film composer working with large templates in Cubase. Until recently, I was relying on Vienna Ensemble Pro for performance reasons, but I'm trying to transition to a DAW-only setup using Kontakt 8, with instances disabled until needed.
Since upgrading to the Komplete Kontrol MK3 keyboard, I’ve been experiencing a 5-10 second lag/lock up in Cubase 13 sessions that include 30+ Kontakt 8 instances—even when those instances are empty (i.e., no instruments loaded).
The lag specifically occurs when:
- Enabling/disabling Kontakt instances
- Duplicating tracks with Kontakt
After some testing, I found that disconnecting the Komplete Kontrol MK3 keyboard completely eliminates the lag, which leads me to believe the issue is related to the Komplete Kontrol integration/connection service.
