Hi,
I'm experiencing an issue with Massive X on my system where the preset “Ballistic” from the Bounce expansionsounds completely different when loaded compared to its preview audio. The preview plays correctly, but when I load the preset, the resulting sound is completely wrong — as if the patch is corrupted or misconfigured.
The loaded version sounds as if it has feedback or a feedback loop, with unexpected modulation or distortion, which is not present in the preview. This used to work correctly — the preset matched the preview in the past — but after a reinstall, this behavior started.
What I’ve already tried:
- Reinstalled Massive X via Native Access
- Reinstalled the Bounce expansion
- Reinstalled the Massive X Factory Library
- Manually reset the Massive X user database
- Cleared and rebuilt the Komplete Kontrol database
- Tested the preset in multiple DAWs (Logic Pro, Ableton Live) and in standalone mode
Despite all that, the issue persists: the preset loads with the wrong sound, even though the preview plays fine.
System Info:
- Mac Mini M4 (2024)
- 16 GB RAM, 512 GB internal SSD
- macOS 15.5 Sequoia
- Massive X content and libraries are installed on an external SSD (APFS-formatted)
- The external SSD works fine for other NI libraries and instruments
It seems the .nksf
file for the “Ballistic” preset may be corrupted or not properly interpreted by the current version of Massive X. I would appreciate help recovering a working version of this preset, or confirmation if this is a known issue with the Bounce expansion.
Thank you!
