Audio settings: can someone clarify how the output routing work?

I would like to isolate the click/metronome from the main sound output using the main and the phones outputs.

I went to the 3rd page of the audio settings where you can define out 1L/1R and Out 2L/2R, with possible values not connected or Internal Out 0 to 3.

By trying all combinations, the only combination that separates the two is :

. Out 1L/1R set to Internal Out 2 and 3

. Out 2L/2R set to Internal Out 0 and 1

and the main sound is sent to the Phones output, while the metronome is sent to the Main output.

I was more expecting the main sound being sent to the Main output in all cases and optionally to the Phones output. That is not a big issue, I can use the Phones output as my main and the main as the secondary.

But I would like to know if this is the expected behavior - I may have missed something but I have not found a detailed description of the routing; e.g. to what correspond the values Internal Out 0 to 3, how the other Out 3 to 16 Out L/R can be used, etc.

I have connected an audio interface (1 stereo output) to the Maschine + USB.

If I connect the Maschine + audio to the external box in the main Audio settings page, the sound is sent to the external device and no longer to the main stereo output.

But is there a way to use both the main stereo output of the Maschine + and my external audio interface ? For example I would like to send the click sound to the external device while having the Maschine sounds go to the main stereo output.

You're looking in the wrong place, the metronome goes directly to CUE, assuming you got an MK3/M+ go to:

Settings > Hardware — Disable +Phones, this disables the CUE from being mirrored to all Outputs.
Press CHANNEL/Plugin, Navigate to Master and make sure Output is set to Ext.1 and CUE is set to Ext.2

Now your Cue (Metronome, Browser Preview, etc…) only goes to External 2, which is the HeadPhoone Output.
