Using Scale > Key Mode > "Mapped" doesn't send mapped key to MIDI - Any way around this?

Hi there,

Hopefully the title makes sense.

I have the Komplete S88 MkII keyboard.

Today I used the Scale feature and put it in the "Mapped" Key Mode. I set the scale to D Major.

I was mistakenly under the impression this would send the mapped keys to MIDI, which is then picked up by Logic Pro, but as far as I can tell it sends the keys that were actually pressed, and therefore playback in the correct key relies on the mapping feature in the keyboard.

If I am correct in this assessment, does this also mean I can only replay the music composition (in its correct key signature, D Maj. in this instance) with the Mapped scale active on the keyboard?

As far as I can tell, if I disable the Scale feature on the keyboard, the music plays back (from Logic Pro) with the wrong notes. Meaning, an instance where I hit C instead of C#, even though the keyboard mapped this to C#, it will play back as C (and not C#) if the Mapped setting is off.

Is there any way around this? Ideally, I want what's recorded in the DAW (Logic) to be the correct notes.

And, is there any way to "fix" this in retrospect? So that the MIDI in the DAW ends up with the correct notes on a piece I composed whilst using the Mapped scale feature?

Thanks very much.

You have to add a second MIDI track and then set it to receive the MIDI output from the KK plugin. When you have a plugin on a track, what you see on that track is the MIDI input from the keyboard which is just the note you press. The KK software then takes that and generates the chord/arp you selected and sends that into the plugin. There is a dedicated MIDI output that you can rout within the daw to pipe that converted scale/arp to another track.
