Does anybody know how to get the kontakt 8 vst plugin? It does not install on intel mac with the installer. Customer support takes forever to respond and when they do they give me the wrong info. I am using it for symphony series with dorico 6
It should load on an Intel Mac according to the requirements. What exact error do you get when you try to install it?
There is no error but after several installations it does not appear in dorico or in my audio folder on my hard drive. As a resultthere is no sound during plaback
I presume you are trying to load the VST3? There is no VST anymore
Ok must be another reason there is no playback. Chat GPT must be lying
What exact os version do you use?
Using Sequoia 15.5 on IMAC intel
Have you done this:

Thanks it was already done but still no sound
On the installer vst3 is checked but is greyed out
It's greyed out cause you can't opt out, it will be definitely installed in the standard vst3 folder if everything runs normal.
do you try to add kontakt first in the vst rack like you should do?
Oh I see. It was added in dorico's vst instruments. Shouldnt I be able to find vst3 on my computer to verify that it because it doesnt appear anywhere with a search?
I suspect that is why there is no playback sound
Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
there the vst3s should be installed, you have to add the instrument under the rack and then add it/connect it to the correct notes lane too as far as I can see online, of course you also have to open an instrument before you can hear a sound, I would guess you can open kontakt from the rack once it is added there and open then and instrument - but I don't use dorico myself, just cubase pro 14.
Maybe it's a good idea to ask in the steinberg forum too, there are many dorico users who probably know how to add and use kontakt within dorico
Thanks but I tried installing several times and it does not appear in that folder.
Can you look in the finder for "*.vst3", but maybe the installer has no write rights or something…I'm not a mac user so I don't know how it works on mac
And this folder: /user/[username]/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
