I really like that you can now properly zoom in vertically on the piano roll but would like to know if we will be able to do that from the hardware as well at some point?
What do you mean?
You can already press Shift+Variation/NAVIGATE To access a menu that has zoom controls, amongst other stuff on an Mk3/M+.

Since the latest update you can also zoom in vertically on the piano roll, making the lines a lot thicker than you could before. But the Shift + Variation/Navigate only lets you zoom in horizontally and move from left to right and from top to bottom. You can't zoom in vertically from the hardware (as far as I can tell) you need to do this with the mouse. I would like to know if NI is planning to add that functionality.
I would really hope so too. As well as a keyboard shortcut also
Ohhh, you're right. I'd like that too.
They would have to (IMO) change the control layout a bit to keep it logical. I'm thinking pads 1 & 2 for scrolling left to right, pads 3 & 4 for scrolling up and down, pads 5 & 6 for zooming horizontally and pads 7 & 8 for vertical. That would make the most sense to me.
