Symphony Essentials String Basses have a slow attack.

I have noticed that the string basses have a very slow attack lagging behind the beat by at least an eighth note. This is a noticeable lag. Is this a known issue or am I missing something? To correct this I would have to pull all the basses notes back an eighth of a beat on my piano roll. It would not be possible to correct if I was using a score editor. Of course this correction is very frustrating to have to do every time. It is a very established library so I am surprised to find what seems to be a programming error. I cannot adjust the attack as I do not have the full version of Kontakt 8.

It's possible this could be caused if you're using a legato articulation setting which by tradition has a momentary introductory rise in volume as that's common in orchestral music. That would be how the sample was initially played/recorded so it really can't be corrected as it was meant to be played that way. I'd try a different articulation with a more standard attack and see if that works better for you.

Thanks for your reply. Actually I could not find a legato setting for the strings library which is the subject of my following post! In any case the lag on legato is just a few microseconds and can be adjusted with track delay. But this lag is at least one eighth note. It’s too much for even a negative track delay to handle. I notice this lag on all the basses articulations. It’s rather puzzling. I appreciate your suggestions though.

I discovered that there are both attack and release controls available on the GUI of all the Symphony Essentials which I somehow failed to notice even though they are in plain sight. The basses instrument did indeed have the attack turned up for some reason. When I turned the attack back down everything works fine with no lag. I’m just learning this library!
