Komplete Kontrol 3.5.0 will not recognize S61 MK3

Relevant details: This is on a Macbook Pro M4 Max, with the MK3 plugged directly into the Mac using the NI-supplied cable. macOS 15.5.
Komplete Kontrol 3.5.0 will not recognize the S61 MK3. In all other respects, the MK3 is working fine.
I noticed I was on an old firmware. I downloaded the firmware updater, and the firmware updater recognized the MK3 and successfully upgraded it to 1.9.4 without issue. This did not resolve the problem.
Multiple reboots did not resolve the problem.
Komplete Kontrol sees all three MIDI inputs/outputs of the device in MIDI settings (Main, DAW, and Ext). Selecting any/all of these has no effect, other than allowing me to play instruments in KK as a generic MIDI device.
I originally had the MK3 attached to the Mac via a USB-C port on a thunderbolt dock. I tried moving the cable to attach directly to the Mac. It made no difference.
All other applications recognize the MK3. Bitwig recognizes it and successfully configures it via the Mossgrabber script. Logic Pro recognizes it, and DAW control works.
But in Komplete Kontrol, whether standalone, or the plugin, if I open the Controller menu, all NI devices are grayed out, and nothing I try kicks the MK3 into browser mode.

Does your hardware connection service also need updating? It is working fine for me.

Well damn. That was it. I had forgotten about that component.

I'm surprised it let you upgrade the firmware without upgrading the hardware service first - it really should be done in that order.
