How do I move a DAW sequence to another computer and have the Kontakt samples follow it?

I teach in a a lab with 13 Macs. Students use Kontakt within Digital Performer. They load samples into the Kontakt player, and save the nki patch and its associated samples into the Digital Performer Project folder. Then they save the sequence.
If they move the Project folder to another computer, they get an error message that the samples can't be found, because Kontakt is looking for them on the original computer. How do we get the samples to migrate correctly to the second computer so that Kontakt will load them without complaining?

There is no need to relocate anything if you save your instrument with options 2 or 3:
Option 2: Patch + Samples into a subfolder
Option 3: Monolith (everything is saved inside the instrument, including samples -no need for subfolder)

Hello,
the prompt normally has an option to relocate the samples, you have to use this. When I'm back later at my PC I can try around a bit. And I didn't know that you can save the nki with kontakt player, maybe you have the full kontakt version.

We do have the full Kontakt version. The prompt does let you relocate the samples, but then when you move the sequence, the Kontakt player is still looking for the samples in the original location.

The nki (or nkm) contains all information including location of samples, so you must save the changes you have made.

I get that. But the location that it remembers is an ABSOLUTE location, not a RELATIVE location, which means it is looking for the samples on the computer they originally came from. Isn't there a way to tell the nki that the samples are right there in the Samples folder next to it, rather than looking for them on a computer that's nowhere near the local computer?

- Move nki/nkm and samples to new computer.
- Load nki/nkm, relocate samples when prompted.
- Save nki/nkm on new computer.
I know nothing about your DAW, but you may need to resave the project too. Try with and without.
Alternatively, if you want the instrument to work immediately on a new computer, save the original as a monolith.
